Oh Ye Nigerian Youth, Find your way back to patriotism.

When I was a young boy, I used to dream, literarily daydream. I dreaming about How Nigeria would be great, how our communities would have good road, good drainages and have working systems and structures like a people-friendly policing. I would be walking down a street or the road and imagine how, instead of waiting for government, I could mobilize the members of the community or street to create an economic development trust fund and fix the roads, and fix the drainages. I used to dream and think of how each compound that has a borehole tap, can allow other compounds to pipe water to their own compound and I thought to myself, if every compound or yard that had a borehole, allowed other compounds or yard to pipe water from them, all the compounds in the community area or street would be served.
I grew up partly in Zaria and partly in Aba, and this dream is the Aba version of my life. Aba was quite an indigenously industrialized city. Literarily anything you want to be made or manufactured can happen in Aba. Yes, Aba is that notorious. Amongst all the things Aba could manufacture and forge I was particularly interested in Electronics. Maybe because I was one the kids that used to tear the radio set apart and fix it back, build torch lights with a set of battery and a tiny bulb and make a fan with the rotor of the cassette player. I used to dream that Nigeria could be the industrial capital of the world with the type of talent that abounds in a place like Aba.
I was this passionate about Nigeria until I got to the university and graduated from school. Between attending the higher institution and graduating and going for youth service and entering the labour market, I lost that patriotism. I stopped dreaming about Nigeria. I was more focused on me and myself and my family and how we can make a living. At some point, all I wanted was to immigrate out of the country to a safe haven, where the systems, transportation and utilities work, where I won’t be harassed by the police for literarily doing nothing. Truth be told, I am not alone in that train coach. There are millions of Nigerian millennials who have lost hope and interest in the Nigerian dream of a united yet diverse nation. Countless time we have had our fingers burnt when we put ourselves out and believed in that dream and tried to live that dream. For some of us, it’s that, we don’t see anything attractive in the Nigerian dream, because it didn’t pay off for our parents and consequently it won’t pay off for us.

It is on record that the most apolitical demography in Nigeria is the working class, especially those in the private sector. Electoral statistics over the years have also shown that the voter turnout from economic nerve centres such as Lagos, which has the highest number of the workforce in the private sector, is low. Many of Nigeria’s enlightened youth did not vote.
In this elections season, a few people have ignited that fire of patriotism back in our hearts especially among the youth and working class. The likes of Bankole Wellington, Akin Alabi, Fela Durotoye, Omoyele Sowore, Chike Ukaeegbu and many other young candidates who came under the Not Too Young to Rule bill, have inspired us and gave us something to believe in. They reminded us that the future is ours and since the older generations are not willing to let us have it, we might as well contest to take it. Dear Nigerian youth, let’s find our way back to Patriotism, let’s begin to care again about Nigeria and the wellbeing of her people. I know the older generations have betrayed and disappointed us, but that is the more reason why we should be concerned more than ever, Let's begin to participate, not as thugs and mischief makers, but as candidates and voters. Let our voice be heard. Let the fire that parties like ANN and AAC and MDP have stoked not go down. Let the work of nation-building begin now.

Borno State Billionaire Mohammed Indimi Donates a $14 million Complex to Lynn University

Borno State born oil billionaire Alhaji Mohammed Indimi donated $14 million complex to Lynn University. The billionaire made the donation as  his two daughters graduated from the University .  The $14 million (N4.2 billion) complex is named after him as "Mohammed Indimi International Business Center" to Lynn University.
Amouna and Hauwa, two daughters of  Borno-born billionaire, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi graduated from the University of Lynn, in Florida.
How ever critics have come out to criticize the billionaire for spend such an amount on a the University. According to Sunday Akoji; a Maryland, USA based Nigerian.

This demagogue made his billions in Nigeria from oil wells his military dictator friend dashed him. He is the Chairman, CEO of Oriental Oil and Gas and he is reported as the tenth richest billionaire in Nigeria.
The Borno-born billionaire, Mohammed Indimi has never ever donated a plastic chair to the University of Maiduguri or any university in the Niger Delta talk more of endowing a chair in any Nigerian university. But the irony is that he can afford to endow a chair and donate a $14 million complex to a US University, which by the way does not even need such gesture from him.
Hundreds of internally displaced people in Borno state needs his Robinhood-like assistance from what he has stolen from the people.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is how Nigerian elite underdeveloped Nigeria, with due apologies to Walter Rodney, the author of the book, "How Europe underdeveloped Africa."

Tiwa savage bares all about her marriage to Teebillz.

Tiwa Savage has addressed the shocking accusations levelled against her by (ex) husband Tunji ‘Teebillz’ Balogun.
Yesterday, Teebillz had taken to social media to level allegations of infidelity, neglect and passive torture from Tiwa Savage in their marriage. He was later reported to have attempted suicide by jumping off the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge in Lagos.
The allegations brought on a lot of heat and discussions on social media, with many polarizing opinions being offered.
But in an exclusive interview with Azuka Ogujiuba, ThisDay Editor, which was obtained exclusively by Pulse TV, Tiwa Savage addressed the allegations, and made emotional revelations about her husband.
Read the edited quotes of her interview below.
When I woke up, I thought they found him dead. My first thought was that we need to find him, he is suicidal, and we need to make sure he is alive. I didn’t even know what he had said. Someone took my phone from me, they don’t want me to see what was said online. I was just sacred for his life.
At around 10 and 11, Banky W’s Mum and his family were praying, and we got the call that he was found in Lekki, and that he has been taken to Banky’s House.
For the past two months, TJ and I have not been together, it was something we were working through, but I knew this marriage would not work.

(Press)
I haven’t spoke to TJ in about a week, and we were supposed to get some passports for my son. He was reading the messages and he wasn’t responding. I begged him to be friends, and let’s be good parents to Jamil. He didn’t respond.
I covered up for a lot of hurt in our relationship. Just before I went to Jamaica, I found out that I was pregnant. We were just trying to find out how we were going to manage another baby so soon. I got to London, on a 10-hour flight to shoot a video with Busy Signal (Reggae Artiste). While doing my makeup, I found out I was bleeding and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital, and we were trying to call TJ to tell him what happened. While we were sleeping at two AM a number called him saved as Edible Catering….I checked his phone, and the number was asking him if she can come to his hotel. She responded that He (TJ) knocked her out last night, that he was a great night. I confronted him, and he said he took another woman to the hotel and said they were just chilling. This happened the period I was in Jamaica, and I was in the hospital. I sent TJ pictures, and he was busy with another woman. I was in ahospital and you couldn’t be bothered find out what happened to me. I packed my stuff, took my son and went to my friends house, her name is Tiwa also. I stayed the night, and she asked me for the next step, I told her I was done.
I covered up for so long because I wanted people to believe that TJ is the one that takes care of me, TJ is the head of the house…I wanted him to be the head of the house. I covered up so much.
TJ has not spent one Naira, I paid for hospital bills, his flight, his accommodation, we also went shopping for TJ so that he will have new things. His excuse was that Í don’t have money’. I had to pay for everything so that he can go out and hustle, and get the contracts. He didn’t have money for diapers, but he had money to have a bi-weekly haircut, had money to pay for his laundry, had money to take a woman to the hotel.
His cooking allegations is a lie. I am not going to say because of my career that I am not going to cook. I work long hours to put money in the house, I work to make sure that we have a roof over our house. I come back home really late, and when I make something for myself, I make some for TJ. I had to hire a cook to cook for me, him and the other people that live in the house, I don’t think that is wrong…Even if it is true, the things he puts me through will not even encourage me to ask him if he is hungry. He goes out and you come home at 7 in the morning, sometime 2pm. He comes back drunk, he comes back angry, and we don’t know what sort of mood he is in. Sometimes TJ will go out and he will not call, and he will not tell him. I am just sacred for his safety, I will be calling him frantically, to find out that he didn’t go and drink. I am even praying that he is with another woman, so that at least I know that he is alive. That’s not the person that I will ask if he has eaten.
When I sacked him as my manager – I will never discredit or take away that TJ worked hard, hustled and believed in me. But what I will say is that at one point….he is booking events and he will book shows. The first time I found out that there was foul play was when he booked me for a wedding in London. I have to be paid before I perform. I called one of the organizers, and said I have not been paid. He said that the show has been paid four months ago, he showed me the account were they paid him. TJ declared that the show was for 3M but they really paid 4.5M, out of the 3M he was still receiving the management fee 40%. He took money already, and collected his percentage, and he didn’t feel anything. He was stealing from his wife. I had to perform at the wedding for free. I do get to perform for free when he takes my money.
My mum is based in the UK, and when I had Jamil she moved back to Nigeria with us. My mother is not like that (witchcraft), she is a sweet lady, and she’s very British, she doesn’t judge, she is not hung up like that. A lot of times, my mom would say ‘Tiwa you are the wife, be patient, don’t curse don’t shout, build the home.’ She has been nothing but a great support for me. I would love for him to tell me if there is something my mother has done.
I have never cheated on my husband. Not with Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, 2face Idibia or anybody. I have never cheated on my husband, and Tunji knows this. He knows that in his heart. (She breaks down in tears) Sometimes in the studio, one of the things that Don Jazzy and some of my other label mates say is that I am really good with interviews, with being diplomatic and knowing how to carry myself with difficult situations. This hurts. I have seen comments of what people are saying about me. It is not true.
I know that for every human being when your father’s ways are not straight, it will bother you. Since I sacked him from my management, he has been struggling financially. He was stealing from me, so I had to save my marriage and separate business from family. TJ wants to keep up with the Joneses, he wants to live a life that is not true. He went to buy a car, a Mercedes that he knew that he didn’t have the money for it. The person kept up calling that he wants the balance. I ended up paying the balance of over 3M. When it was time to pay, I put the money in his account, so they don’t know I was the person paying for it. He also bought a Rolex, and didn’t pay the balance. They threaten to go to the press, and to protect my name, I will have to pay for it. He goes to clubs and leaves the tabs for me, and I have to pay for him. He is putting us in debt.
What set off all off this was that he went to borrow 45 million Naira from someone and he lost it. I just found out that EFCC was investigating a case against him, and my brother called me from London and confirmed it that TJ is in deep trouble, and that some people might hurt him, that I should be careful. In my frantic mode to try and suppress this situation I went to one of my big bros who can help. A week ago I told TJ that we were running out of Jamil’s food, but he didn’t do nothing. He complains, but cuts his hair twice a week. I have been searching for N45M so that they don’t kill him, so that they EFCC does not carry him. What kind of man does that, and says I am the one taking away his manhood.
I walked in on TJ taking cocaine in my house in 1004 (Victoria Island, Lagos). I didn’t even know he takes cocaine. I walked into the kitchen, and I saw him taking cocaine, so I screamed, and asked if that is cocaine. HE started screaming that ‘What am I doing down here, where is the cocaine?’ How can someone without money take cocaine? I called his parents and complained that I can deal with weed, but cocaine, no. So I am dealing with his alcohol problem, you come home late, infidelity, cocaine, bad debt, jealousy over my success.
Before marriage, i didn't know of his third child in Nigeria. A lot of people warned me about him, but I am going to say I made a mistake. At the beginning everyone says you can’t leave the marriage because our culture frowns on it. I made a mistake, do I have to wait ten years, 15 years? If I am not happy. And I was scared that if I ever find somebody else to marry me? That’s the misconceptions of our society. I don’t care if I ever get married again. I care about being happy for Jamil, I care about not walking on eggshells. I do want a man that works, that will help me with my financial burden. He doesn’t have to be a millionaire or billionaire, but at least someone that helps, and won’t put me in more debt.
Everyday all I hear from TJ is that ‘I created you, I took you from nothing, look at you now.
The marriage is finally over, it’s been over for a while, and I have covered up for a while. What happened was God-sent, and he made it easier for me to walk away with what he did on social media. He got so many people angrier, he pulled so many innocent people into this. Even his family. He made it easy for me to finally up and walk away.
I will never stop hum from seeing Jamil, never. Even today, Jamil is still saying ‘dadada’, and I was saying it with him as well, that’s his first word. I want to bring him up to be a good man.
Even till now I don’t wish anything bad on him. As we are doing this interview, I am worried that if he sees it, it might trigger him to do something bad. I don’t want my son to grow up and know, God forbid, that his father committed suicide. Tonight, I am still gonna pray for him.
He was getting help at one point when the whole cocaine thing came out. This has been happening for a long time. We get him help and he goes to see a doctor or a pastor, or a counselor and he uses his own hands to ruin things again. If I didn’t care about him, I wouldn’t be covering up for a lot of things. I wouldn’t be searching for help for him. Even now I am still searching for a way to help him out of his debt, so that if he is out of this,
If there is anything that maybe I overlooked, or didn’t love him enough, or made him less of a man, then I am sorry. I am absolutely sorry…Tunji I am sorry. But you know I tried everything, you know I love you so much, and I am sorry, I never wanted to divorce, and I never wanted it to get to this. I want you to get better…and I would always pray for you.

Father inflicts terror on his eight year old son Chukwuma Okafor in the name discipline

When I saw this picture on Facebook shared by a concerned Nigerian, I thought I should lend my voice to it. Main because it reminds me of the ordeal I went through at the hand of my uncle.
This picture reminds me exactly what my life was like for over 10years. But today is not about me, it's about Chukwuma Okafor who has been battered mercilessly by his father in the name of discipline.

WHO WILL SAVE LITTLE OKAFOR FROM HIS FATHER'S WICKEDNESS?

Eight Years old Chukwuma Okafor is presently on admission at the Kubuwa General Hospital after a brutal beating by his own father. This child was taken to hospital by a Nun whom was said to have been contacted by his school teachers. Yesterday morning, his own father drove him to school in a bad shape and dumped him.
Little Okafor was in serious pain and could barely walk on his leg. The school teachers rushed him to the General Hospital in Kubuwa. After undergoing series of X-ray that the result revealed he has fracture on his leg and hand as a result of beating with a strong object which the boy confirmed to be pestle.
Incidentally, Hassan Maina Kaina, a reporter with VOA Hausa was in the hospital to check on his friend. He saw the boy's condition and encouraged that the matter should be reported to the Police. The school reported the matter to the Police in Kubuwa and Mr. Okafor (his father) has been arrested for child abuse.
The school teachers confirmed that on several occasions, they made effort to intervene on the boy's situation but the father proved stubborn and even threatened them. The scars on the boy's head & back shows how long he has been maltreated by his own father.
THE FATHER IS JUSTIFYING HIS ACTIONS BY WAY OF CLAIMING TO BE A DISCIPLINARIAN AND HE SAID HIS ARREST BY THE POLICE IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE TYPE OF EMBARRASSMENTS THAT HIS CHILD KEEP BRINGING TO HIS FAMILY.

From the look of the scares, this has been happening for years. Probably the major part of the young boy's life. We need to do something about it.

THE NONCHALANT APPROACH OF PARENTS TO THE UNGODLY CONTENT ON TV, RADIO AND THE INTERNET.

THE NONCHALANT APPROACH OF CHRISTIANS TO THE UNGODLY CONTENT ON TV, RADIO AND THE INTERNET.
Written by Perry Martins
Yes You, i am talking to you. You have a nonchalant approach to the ever aggressive media campaign that the devil has launched through his surrogates and machinery. You go to your social media pages to pay lips services to these audacious moves but like I said, that’s all you do, “lips service”. Yeah right now you are asking yourself, what moves is he talking about? You are a Christian abi, or a Muslim or you believe in something sha. You believe in the sanctity of life, you believe and you know that homosexuality is no way for a society or community to thrive, because no two men can do anything and in the process give birth to an offspring.  You have seen the provocative music videos on those popular music channels like MTV, Trace TV and co. Many times you have stumbled on your children, nephew, nieces ,cousin  watching it and in every of those moments you feel that sting of guilt, that shock, that shiver that runs through you as you watch the younger ones watching and mimicking the things they see on TV. Your are busy working and building your business, raking in all the money you can, then you come back home to meet Wiz kid, drake and Whiz khalifa teaching your kids how to do girls, do drugs, drink and live indiscriminately. You come back home to meet Tiwa Savage ,Rihanna and Lady Gaga teaching your girls how to twerk. Ooh you don’t know what twerking means....sorry!
The level of profanity, immorality, seduction and raunchiness on the media is alarming. The so called regulatory bodies pay lips service to “censoring”. The artistes and producers and video directors are out to make money at the expense of the morality of the society. The media houses are out to make money too, hence they will play anything as long as you can pay. So where are the artistes getting all that level of money that they show us on TV and they pay the media houses. Enter....Corporate businesses, private companies and wealthy individuals. The Telecoms and beverage industry are the highest spenders when it comes to endorsing actors, artistes, video vixens etc. They are the biggest investors in concerts and events. As long as you can get them to their audience at whatever cost, they are willing to pay. I am happy that the CEOs, COOs and CCOs are, and would be parent of some child somewhere. So i will say this bluntly to them. The decisions you made in preferring to sponsor a raunchy entertainment project instead of a safe wholesome family or religious entertainment will definitely haunt you down. It’s not a curse, it’s a fact. I hear that DSTV has removed One Gospel from her bouquets ...Nice one DSTV. God bless you guys big time, and you want to replace it with this bombshell of a movie called “I am Jazz”
Few days back a campaign started on social media to stop DSTV from airing a Transgender Series movie for children. I started seeing social media broadcasts everywhere requesting people to join the campaign  and write to the NBC (National Broadcasting Corporation)  to stop DSTV (Multichoice) from airing the obviously homosexual Children Movie. What interests me most is the response of two of my colleagues in the gospel entertainment media industry, our senior, Uncle Deji Irawo of X2D and my friend Emmanuel Oyez of GospelNaija . Both of them were simply appalled at people’s sudden realization that airing such a series is dangerous to the psychology our nation and continent. Meanwhile these things have been brewing for years and they both have platforms promoting and propagating safe entertainment or Christian entertainment and they have been trying to reach out to the corporate world and wealthy individuals to support their cause to no avail.  Of course the argument has always been “you call yours Christian Entertainment, what about the Muslims and the non religious”.  My answer, there is a fundamental law of freedom of worship and association. People can choose to watch whatever they want to watch. I am still wondering why NBC is holding off religious TV media houses. As for the Corporate bodies who think religious media and events can’t get them to their audience, that’s a lie from the pit of hell. Various Christian events have proved you wrong. I hear some of them have been approaching the organisers of The Experience Lagos Concert to sponsor the event. Our Muslim brothers can fix themselves. As for the Anti religious and Non-Religious, God help You.
My Submission
We are simply nonchalant. We are not proactive; we pay lips service and do nothing about it. We have all the money to own and promote wholesome media and safe entertainment TV and radio channels, internet media, print etc. We have the connections to sway decisions to allow legislations. But we do nothing about it. We are torn between the lines of denominations.  What the media sells to people is what they will watch. If you show raunchy and sex littered entertainment, they will watch, if you show safe entertainment, they will watch, if you make the safe entertainment classy and excellent enough, they will enjoy it better. And to achieve that we need funding.  Stop being a hypocrite and do something now to save your children from damnation. The media defines the culture and lifestyle of any nation and shapes her future. NBC should stop comparing religious media with political media, they are two different avenues. Terms of broadcast can be applied.
If you felt offended by my use of words, make a change Now. Stop the hypocrisy. We can’t go on like this. We will end up like some of the western nations. We will lose our sense of purpose.

Dozens Dead in Miaduguri Bombings

Three bombings rocked separate targets in northeast Nigeria's largest city of Maiduguri today, killing at least 33 people, witnesses and a local official told AFP, in violence blamed on Boko Haram.

The first attack was carried out by a female suicide bomber at the Baga fish market at roughly 11:20 am (local time), said Abubakar Gamandi, the head of the fisherman's union in Borno State, of which Maiduguri is the capital.

'A female suicide bomber exploded as soon as she stepped out of a motorised rickshaw,' said Gamandi, who was at the scene. 'Eighteen people were killed.'

That account was supported by a nurse at the Maiduguri General Hospital, where many of the victims were taken.

About an hour later a bomb blast hit the popular Monday Market, killing another 15 people, according to Gamandi and the nurse, who requested anonymity.

It was not immediately clear whether the second attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.

'For now, we have at least 33 dead bodies from the two incidents...the toll may change because we are expecting more casualties,'said Gamandi.

The first two attacks were confirmed by Borno's Justice Commissioner Kaka Shehu, but he declined to provide casualties figures until rescue workers had completed their searches.

Shortly after 1:00 pm Shehu phoned AFP in Maiduguri to confirm a third bombing at the busy Borno Express bus terminal, but details, including on casualties, were not immediately available.

'We condemn these acts in their entirety and we extend our condolences to the victims,'Shehu said.

'The terrorists are angry with the way they were sacked from towns and villages and are now venting their anger,' he added.

Shehu was referring to an ongoing offensive against Boko Haram in Borno state being waged by Nigeria and Chad, with support from Cameroon and Niger.

The four-nation offensive has claimed major successes over the insurgents since the start of last month, and analysts have said that Boko Haram would likely step up bombings on civilian targets in response.

Meet The World’s Youngest Female Billionaire, A College Dropout And Medical Genius

Some of the most successful and innovative people in the world never finished college. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg are both dropouts of Harvard University for example.
They both quit early to create Microsoft and Facebook, respectively. Likewise, although he’s no longer with us, Steve Jobs was also a dropout, leaving Reed College prematurely to build the Apple empire. Is dropping out of college the pathway to greatness?
Traditional thinking tells us that we need to finish college in order to get anywhere in this world. Yet, these men made billions by pursuing their dreams instead of following the pack.
Not only that, they have created companies that have completely changed the way we live. Simply put, they have had a palpable and positive impact on the world.
Perhaps this is precisely why billionaire Peter Thiel now encourages young people to forgo college and follow their passions. Recently, another college dropout joined the ranks of innovative billionaires, and she’s barely 30.

Meet Elizabeth Holmes

When Elizabeth Holmes was a 19-year-old sophomore at Stanford University in 2003, she decided to drop out and start her own company, Theranos. She felt strongly that her tuition money could be used for a greater and more benevolent purpose: revolutionizing healthcare.
When she first told Channing Robertson, her chemical engineering professor, what she planned to do, he was concerned about the implications of Holmes leaving her degree unfinished. He asked her why she wanted to risk everything in order to pursue this plan. Holmes replied:
I want to create a whole new technology, and one that is aimed at helping humanity at all levels regardless of geography or ethnicity or age or gender.
The fire in Holmes’ eyes convinced her professor that she would succeed, and she received his blessing.

Making Medical History

Holmes wanted to create a technology that would make blood tests easier. She hates needles, and wanted to make blood tests simpler, cheaper and more accessible for all people. For a decade, she quietly worked on a technology that would make blood tests nothing more than a painless finger prick.
Holmes has created hardware and software that allow for blood tests to be done by pricking someone’s finger and storing the blood in a tiny vial called a nanotainer.
Some people are so afraid of needles and blood, they would rather avoid getting blood tests than obtaining potentially life-saving medical information. Surprisingly, about half of all Americans do not comply when their doctors ask them to get blood work done. Holmes’ technology eliminates that fear, and makes it easier and more likely that people will get necessary blood tests.
Not to mention, traditional blood tests typically involve sending multiple vials of blood to separate labs for evaluation. This takes weeks for the results to come through, and also leaves a lot of room for error.
With the single prick of a finger, the technology Holmes has created can provide a wealth of information with exceptional efficiency. The new tests can be done at a pharmacy without going to a doctor or lab, and the results only take about four hours. Furthermore, the same drop of blood can be used for multiple tests with this technology.
Blood work can also be very expensive, depending on your insurance coverage. This new test, however, is much cheaper, which was always one of Holmes’ goals when she started Theranos.
It’s painless, more accurate, cheaper and quicker. Simply put, this technology is revolutionary, and it will save lives.

Blood Money

Holmes’ company, Theranos, is now worth $9 billion. She owns 50 percent of it and is worth $4.5 billion, making her the youngest female and third-youngest billionaire on the recently released list of the 400 richest Americans from Forbes. She is the youngest woman to become a self-made billionaire.
Her company has also partnered with Walgreens, and it seems that it will only continue to grow. Yet, Holmes did not create her company to get rich, she sincerely wanted to make a change in the world. As she puts it:
We’re successful if person by person we help make a difference in their lives.
Our purpose is to give people access to the basic right of being (blood) tested when they need to or want to. If we can do that, then we will have made a difference.
She believes that affordable and efficient healthcare is a human and civil right. Elizabeth Holmes is proof that greatness is achieved by combining passion, innovation and the desire to better the lives of those around you.
